《請回答1988》由朴寶劍、惠利、柳俊烈、高庚杓、李東輝主演，在韓國創下有線電視史上最高收視紀錄，參與演出的演員也因此人氣攀升。雖然惠利演出前不被看好，但之後卻扭轉大家對她的看法，且她為了演好這個角色，前4集的台詞完全倒背如流，也很開心終於獲得觀眾的肯定！

惠利一開始被選為《請回答1988》的女主角，讓許多觀眾都感到擔心，沒想到戲劇播出之後，發現惠利把劇中女主角的神經大條、可愛的模樣詮釋得淋漓盡致。第1集中，惠利一直堅持不要跟姐姐一起過生日，卻不能如願，氣得在生日會上發飆大哭，那場戲對她來說印象最深也很重要。她說，當時演完反覆看了螢幕，發現連點蠟燭的畫面都讓她感動得落淚。

為了準備「德善」這個角色，惠利特別花了3個月的時間跟導演討論，不希望自己的演技受到爭議。惠利坦言一直認為自己挺聰明，跟大喇喇又有點傻的德善不太一樣，但導演卻認為在她身上可以看到「德善」影子，讓她感覺很吃驚，不過也因為導演這樣說，讓她更有自信，可以把角色發揮得更好。
緯來戲劇台將於8月15日晚間11點起，週一至週五晚間10點到12點雙語播出《請回答1988》。
